Letters from Greece

This year we have got in our school an English teacher from Greece that cooperates with the English teachers in subjects like English, PE and Arts.
Her name is Julie and she is being one of the members of our staff.
We take an advantage from her presence here and we found a school from her city, Edessa, in the north of Greece, and we have started an exchange of letters with the 5th primary of this school in order children improve their communicative skills in English and besides to exchange information about their differences in the two cultures. We have just received the first letters from Greece and we will show you some pictures of our students.

Halloween 2017

Firstly, we did an interesting activiy with the students of 4th of primary. The children brought with them some ingredients to make Halloween sweets and recipes. We had a great time elaborating spider lollipops with Oreo cookies and licorice candy, scary sandwiches with ham and cheese and even witches' broomsticks... The recipes are very easy and you can try it by yourself at your home.

Then, in the afternoon, children of 6th of primary they wore Halloween costumes to play Trick or Treat with the children of the other classes. We went with them from class to class and we give to the other kids sweets, lollipops, candies. It was so funny and the children had a great time.

Australia Day

January 26 is the national day of Australia which commemorates the arrival of the first non-indigenous settlers to Australia in 1788. To celebrate the day the students of year 6 with the help of our Australian English assistant, William, prepared a presentation about Australia. The students then dressed for summer and showed the presentation to students from other year levels which they all enjoyed.

Some students were also awarded with special Australia Day medals to recognise their participation and positive attitude in English class and to further encourage other students.

As a special treat for the year 6 students for doing an excellent job with the presentation they enjoyed a traditional Australian sausage sizzle at recess.
