English Skits

Over the past two weeks with 5th grade we worked on skits! Skits are short theater scenes that the students act out in front of the class. We used the skits to practice our English, and the students got very creative! First, the students got randomly assigned a place: cinema, hospital, supermarket, etc. Then, they had to pick at least one famous person or celebrity to be in their skit: for example, Ariana Grande, Becky G, etc. Next, they picked out four verbs in the present simple to use in their skit. We brainstormed verbs to use and each group chose at least four to include in their scene. And finally, we practised using adverbs of frequency (always, often, usually, sometimes, never). The students had to include at least two adverbs of frequency in their skits. The results were fun, action-packed, and sometimes hilarious! Congratulations to the 5th grade class for doing such a good job with this activity. We may have some future actors on our hands...
