Australia Day

January 26 is the national day of Australia which commemorates the arrival of the first non-indigenous settlers to Australia in 1788. To celebrate the day the students of year 6 with the help of our Australian English assistant, William, prepared a presentation about Australia. The students then dressed for summer and showed the presentation to students from other year levels which they all enjoyed.

Some students were also awarded with special Australia Day medals to recognise their participation and positive attitude in English class and to further encourage other students.

As a special treat for the year 6 students for doing an excellent job with the presentation they enjoyed a traditional Australian sausage sizzle at recess.
